Elvin Ross was the founding member of the Legis Group LLC. Prior to establishing the firm, Mr. Ross was an associate in the Business and Finance practice group of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and prior to that he served as a federal law clerk in the Southern District of Texas where he advised the Court on various matters of national interest including the Enron litigation. Mr. Ross' legal experience also included the completion of many merger and acquisition projects, a variety of real estate transactions, numerous public and private investor offerings, the licensing of technology across various industries and the provision of general corporate advice to companies that provide some of the most well known goods and services enjoyed throughout America.
Mr. Ross received his law degree from Texas Southern University, a Masters of Education degree from Drexel University and a Bachelors degree from the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Ross worked for several years at PECO Energy (now Exelon) where he performed financial and technical analysis in connection with evaluating various co-generation energy projects and then for some years as a teacher with the School District of Philadelphia where he taught high school math.
Mr. Ross is a former local President of the National Society of Black Engineers and he is a founding member and former co-Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Advancing Civics Education Committee. Mr. Ross is an officer of the historic Undine Barge Club located on Philadelphia’s Boathouse Row and he is a member of St. Malachy Roman Catholic Church.
